A Home Above the Water

Villa Aurelia began as a private lake house, built stone by stone into the hillside above Cortenza. Three generations later, its shutters still open onto the same view: terraced gardens, still water, and mountains that change colour with the hour.

We kept the thick walls, the wide-plank floors, and the fireplace in the front hall. What we added was quiet comfort — soft linens, slow mornings, and a table that is always set for one more guest.
